As an organization dedicated to serving the community, KOSU relies upon our volunteer team to help meet station goals, staff various events, and assist with general office work. We are always looking for dedicated individuals who share our passion for public radio and community service. Volunteers assist with our wide range of community events and answer phones for our on-air pledge drive, as well as join us at the KOSU studios to help with general office work.
The KOSU on-air pledge drives occur twice a year (October and March/April) and require the largest number of volunteers. Volunteers answer phones at our office between the hours of 6:00 a.m. and 7 p.m. Shifts are generally 2 or 3 hours long, and snacks are provided by various local restaurants and caterers.
KOSU Special Events
These events include festivals, tours of the KOSU studios, Premiere on Film Row, The Mix Concert series and a variety of other events. Volunteer duties may include helping people register, providing information, assisting with station tours and staffing event tents.
SPY Music Event Volunteer
KOSU and The Spy sponsor various concert events in Oklahoma and the surrounding areas. Volunteers are needed to wear a KOSU t-shirt and go to these events and pass out stickers and tell people how wonderful public radio is.
KOSU Office Assistant
Volunteers are needed to assist with various office tasks including alphabetizing, filing, data entry and fulfilling pledge thank you gifts.
