Boren's Departure, Special Session Looming & Senate Leader's New Job

This Week in Oklahoma Politics, KOSU's Michael Cross talks with Republican Political Consultant Neva Hill and ACLU Oklahoma Executive Director Ryan KieselĀ about the announcement by University of Oklahoma President David Boren that he is stepping down from the job at the end of the school year, the state legislature gears up to start a special session to fix the budget on Monday and Senate President Pro TemĀ Mike Schulz says he is considering the position of executive director of the Oklahoma Farm Bureau.

The trio also discusses an endorsement of Todd Lamb for Governor from Oklahoma City Congressman Steve Russell and an endorsement from the Oklahoma City Fraternal Order of Police to State Senator David Holt for mayor. They also talk about plans to raise $850,000 to erect a Bill of Rights monument at the State Capitol.
