6 of 7 Oklahoma Federal Lawmakers Vote for U.S. Budget Plan

Six of Oklahoma's seven-member congressional delegation voted for a budget plan that passed both the House and Senate and heads to the president.

he measure passed the Senate on a 65-33 vote Friday after passing the House by a 316-113 margin earlier in the day. It combines $1.14 trillion in new spending and $680 billion in tax cuts over the coming decade.

Sens. Jim Inhofe and James Lankford and Reps. Tom Cole, Frank Lucas, Markwayne Mullin and Steve Russell each voted for the measure while Rep. Jim Bridenstine voted against it. Each member of the Oklahoma delegation is a Republican.

Cole, Lucas and Russell issued statements saying they supported the bill because it lifts a ban on exporting oil and provides funding for the military, among other measures.
