NBA star Russell Westbrook of the Oklahoma City Thunder is on pace to average a triple-double this season, a feat that no NBA player has achieved since Oscar Robertson in 1962. Westbrook also may break Robertson's single season triple-double record of 41. NPR's Robert Siegel talks to ESPN's Kevin Arnovitz about Westbrook's heroic effort this season.

The Oklahoma City Thunder and Chicago Bulls were able to pull off a multi-player deal before Thursday's NBA trade deadline.

The Thunder picked up reinforcements for Russell Westbrook by getting forwards Taj Gibson and Doug McDermott from the Bulls. The Thunder also get a second-round pick in the 2018 draft for Cameron Payne, Joffrey Lauvergne and Anthony Morrow.

McDermott is expected to boost an outside shooting attack that ranks 29th in 3-point shooting. Gibson fills a void left when Oklahoma City dealt Serge Ibaka in last year's NBA draft.

Russell Westbrook is featured in a Foot Locker commercial for the new Air Jordan XXXI shoes.

Oklahoma City Thunder forward Mitch McGary has been suspended without pay for at least 10 games for violating the terms of the league's anti-drug policy.

The league announced Tuesday that the suspension will begin when he has finished serving a five-game drug suspension that was announced in July. After the previous suspension, McGary said in a statement that he needed to "take accountability and ensure that this does not happen again."
