Working Longer Hours Can Mean Drinking More

People who try to reduce the stress of a long work day with a drink or two, or three, may be causing more health problems for themselves.

Around the world, people working long hours are more likely to drink too much, according to a study that analyzed data from 61 studies involving 333,693 people in 14 countries.

They found that people who worked more than 48 hours a week were 13 percent more likely to engage in risky drinking than people working 35 to 40 hours a week.

Texas Appears To Step Back From Proposal To Sell Alcohol At Some Gun Shows

The Texas Alcoholic Beverage Commission appears to be backing away from a proposal to allow the sale of alcohol at some gun shows.

On Friday, the staff of the Texas Alcoholic Beverage Commission recommended that commissioners vote to withdraw the plan.

Oklahoma State Suspends Fraternity for Two Years

A fraternity at Oklahoma State University has been suspended for two years for violating the college's policies regarding alcohol and hazing.

The Oklahoman reports the university has suspended the Phi Delta Theta fraternity until August 2016.
