Oklahoma City Public Schools Seeks Recent Dropouts

Due to recent changes in the state’s high school graduation requirements, former dropouts could now qualify for their diplomas.

In light of this, the superintendent of Oklahoma City Public Schools Aurora Lora announced that her district is attempting to track these kids down and get them their graduation certificates.

"If any of them are still in the area we’re going to try to find them—we’re trying to bring them back and we want to get them a high school diploma and have a special graduation for them."

Any person under the age of 22 that met all graduation requirements but did not pass four of seven end-of-instruction tests, as previously required, may now be granted a diploma.
