Oklahoma City Public Schools Seeking 100 Teachers

Oklahoma City Public Schools Associate Superintendent Aurora Lora waits on Board of Education members to emerge from executive session during an April 25, 2016 meeting.

Oklahoma City Public Schools is still looking to fill more than 100 teaching positions before classes begin just two weeks from now on August 1.

District officials say they’re actively recruiting, and are partnering with the State Department of Education to find emergency certified teachers.

Here's a list of available positions.

And this afternoon at the OKCPS board meeting, board members will consider expanding charter schools in the district. KIPP charter school leaders have proposed a new elementary and high school – and say this will give more students access to a quality education. But, there has been a lot of local opposition to the plan.

The board meeting takes place this afternoon at 5:30 p.m. at the district administration building at 900 N. Klein Avenue in Oklahoma City.
