Robert Earl Keen has been a leading musician in the genre of Texas Country for the past three decades. He has recorded 18 full-length albums and had songs covered by George Strait, Lyle Lovett, The Dixie Chicks, and more. Keen was inducted into the Texas Heritage Songwriters Hall of Fame in 2012.

In this interview with KOSU's John Cooper, Keen talks about his new live album, Live Dinner Reunion, playing a concert with Levon Helm, and the so-called differences between Texas Country and Red Dirt music.

Robert Earl Keen will bring his "Merry Christmas from the Fam-O-Lee" tour to Hudiburg Chevrolet Center at Rose State College in Midwest City on Friday, December 16.

John Cooper was part of KOSU's staff from April 2015 to May 2019. He was born and raised in Oklahoma City and holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Education from Oklahoma State University.
