From Creek Town to Tulsa Town: A Bicycle Tour of Creek Sites in Tulsa

Council Oak Medicine Park at 18th and Cheyenne in Tulsa

Before Tulsa became an oil town it was a Creek town and Creek history and landmarks remain in plain site all over the city. From the Perryman's to the site of Tuckabatchee's former cabin, we'll cruise the city by bicycle on an interactive tour led by local preservationists and Creek historians.

Sign up here!

The date is Saturday, June 25th from 10am-3pm. We'll start our tour at 3rd North Lawton Ave on the edge of the Brady Arts District. We'll end at our starting point for social hour and a chance to see and hear some of the work Invisible Nations produced during the project.

You'll  need a bicycle! If you don't have one, not to worry.  Our friends at the Tulsa Hubwill be providing one for a small donation (no one will be turned away). The tour will start at their warehouse location at 10 a.m. and will last two and a half hours, at the most. We'll be providing water, snacks and bike escorts along the way to keep everyone safe and hydrated. The tour will feature Creek sites that are well known and some not so well known. If you're driving to Tulsa, there is plenty of parking available on site.  Please email allison@kosu.org for more information.

A big shout out to Tulsa Hub for being a major sponsor of our tour. They'll be leading us through the city, providing some basic safety training and more!

Hope to see you there!
