One Book, One Community: Stillwater Reads Woody Guthrie - Exhibit Opening

March 12th 2013 2:30pm - 4:30pm at OSU Library Peggy V. Helmerich Browsing Room 2nd floor

Exhibit opening for “Woody Guthrie at 100” which focuses on a Centennial perspective of Woody Guthrie and has never been displayed in Oklahoma. The exhibit will be up for one month. At the opening, Anna Canoni, granddaughter of Woody Guthrie, and Tiffany Colannino Woody Guthrie Archivist, will share the fascinating story of “The Live Wire: Woody Guthrie in Performance 1949.” After its discovery and painstaking restoration, “The Live Wire,” a live audio recording of Woody and Marjorie Guthrie in performance, received a Grammy Award in 2007. The story and recording are packaged as a small book and Anna’s presentation includes excerpts from the recording.
