Southwestern Oklahoma State University 43rd Annual Jazz Festival

February 7th 2013 7:00pm - 10:00pm at Southwestern Oklahoma State University Berrong Recital Hall and Fine Arts Auditorium

The 43rd Annual Jazz Festival, held by Southwestern Oklahoma State University, will be February 7-8, in Weatherford, OK. This years' festival will feature a free concert by the Wycliffe Gordon Quartet on Thursday, February 7 in the Berrong Recital Hall at 7PM as well as concerts with Wycliffe Gordon with the SWOSU Jazz Ensemble A on February 8th at 1 and 8PM. Concert tickets for the February 8th concert are available for $3 for students and $10 for adults.

Trombonist Wycliffe Gordon has been named “Best in Trombone” by the Downbeat Critics Poll for 2012 and Jazz Journalists Association named him “Trombonist of the Year” again this year in 2012 as well as previous years 2001, 2002, 2006, 2007, 2008, and 2011. He is widely recognized as one of the best trombonists of his generation.
