Cool Classics Summer Concert Series
This July and August the Cool Classics Summer Concert Series will return for its seventh season to the Sheerar Cultural Center Auditorium located at 7th and Duncan Street in Stillwater. The free concert series takes place at 7:30 p.m. for five consecutive Fridays beginning July 12 and ending with the final concert on August 9th. The series is presented by the Sheerar Museum of Stillwater History.
For the past six years, this classical chamber music series has taken place in the Sheerar Cultural Center Auditorium. Each concert is approximately one hour in length, beginning at 7:30 p.m. and admission is free. A reception will follow each concert. Additional donations from the public to help continue this series are gratefully accepted.
Chamber music is a form of classical music, performed by a small number of instruments, usually with one performer per part in a small venue which provides an intimate atmosphere. Chamber music has been described as “the music of friends.”
The 7th Season of the Cool Classics Summer Concert Series features Oklahoma musicians from the Tulsa, Oklahoma City, and Stillwater communities. On Friday July 12th the season begins with a performance by Stillwater's own Cimarron Chamber Players featuring Mahlon Halleck and Perry Gethner.
