OSU Symphony Orchestra concert
The Oklahoma State University Symphony Orchestra will perform its final concert of the season on Thursday, April 4th at 8:00 p.m. in the Concert Hall of the Seretean Center for the Performing Arts on the OSU Campus. Admission is $8 for General Admission and $6 for Students and Senior Citizens.
The orchestra will perform an all-Russian program, featuring two OSU student concerto competition winners. Nick Doutrich, trumpet, will perform the first movement of Vladimir Peskin: Trumpet Concerto No. 1 in Eb Major; and Hannah Noel Brashers, piano, will perform movements one and two of Dmitri Shostakovich: Piano Concerto No. 1, Op. 35. Also on the program will be Mikhail Glinka: Overture to Ruslan and Ludmilla, and Nikolai Rimsky-Korsakov: Russian Easter Overture.
The OSU Symphony Orchestra was recently performed at the College Orchestra Directors Association National Conference in Cleveland, Ohio in January 2013. The orchestra is under the direction of OSU associate professor, Douglas Droste.
