Opening Reception: Boo Ritson, 'Homecoming'

October 9th 2012 5:30pm - 7:30pm at City Arts Center

City Arts Center will celebrate the opening of its next international exhibition, â??Homecoming,â?? from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 9 in the Eleanor Kirkpatrick Gallery, 3000 General Pershing Blvd.

In â??Homecoming,â?? London-based artist Boo Ritson expresses her life-long fascination with American culture, stereotypes and landscapes.

The exhibition includes approximately 60 works that merge painting, sculpture, performance and photography. She paints her subjects in thick emulsion paint and has the scene photographed while the paint is still wet.

The reception is free and open to the public. Attendees will have a chance to meet and discuss the exhibition with Ritson. There will be live music by Ali Harter, and menu items include beer, burgers and pie.

The event is come-and-go. No RSVP is required. Dress is casual. For more information, please call 405.951.0000.
