Cherokee Strip Parade & Celebration

September 13th 2013 - 11:00am

The Greater Enid Chamber of Commerce invites you to join us in celebrating the unique heritage of Northwest Oklahoma at the annual Cherokee Strip Celebration & Parade in Enid, OK.

At precisely twelve noon on September 16, 1893 a cannon's boom unleashed the largest land run in United States history. Carried by horses, wagons, trains, bicycles or on foot - an estimated 100,000 raced to claim plots of land in an area in northern Oklahoma Territory known as the Cherokee Strip.

Today, we annually commemorate this historic occasion with a weekend full of family friendly events including a our popular parade, live music, great food, unique vendors and fun for all ages! We hope you will join us in celebrating Cherokee Strip's rich and colorful history. For a full schedule of events and attractions visit www.enidchamber.com or call 580.234.2494.
