Current Studio and Eugene Field Elementary invite you to a dinner featuring cafeteria-inspired cuisine made by local chefs. The dinner benefits in-school visual arts programming for the fall 2017 semester. Due to reduced budgets and resources, Eugene Field Elementary had to make the difficult decision to cut their in-school visual arts program. In response, Current Studio has developed a program to provide arts education for our neighborhood school, because we believe that art education is as important as science, technology, engineering, and math education. Do you remember art class when you were in grade school? Is there any single activity that had a lasting impact on your understanding of creativity? A recurring visual art class during the school day is an important component of teaching young developing minds. Eugene Field school has an empty art classroom. We need to change that. Doors open at 6:00 pm and the cafeteria line opens at 6:30 pm on Monday, July 17 in the cafeteria at Eugene Field Elementary school, 1515 N. Klein Ave, OKC. FOOD Cafeteria fare-inspired dishes provided by local chefs. Our chef team is led by Ryan Parrott of Picasso Cafe. Additional participating chefs will be announced soon. Coffee provided by Leap Coffee Roasters. ART Postcard-sized artworks by local artists available for $25, with 100% of sales benefitting the art program. Until the education budget crisis is solved, we want to do all we can to bridge the gap in our neighborhood school, so generations of kids don't miss having meaningful art experiences as a part of the learning environment. Our spring program was a huge success! We want to continue it into the fall semester! Please come to dinner on Monday, July 17. Or donate if you can't attend. Because every child deserves art education, not just the kids living in wealthier school districts.
