One Book, One Community: Stillwater Reads Woody Guthrie - Songwriting
April 2nd 2013 7:00pm - 9:00pm at Stillwater Public Library
Songwriting Workshop featuring singer-songwriter Darden Smith who will lead a workshop on using everyday life and real stories as the basis for songwriting. Though the workshop is focused on the medium of songwriting, the techniques can be applied to all forms of writing, and all writers are welcome. “What I'm best at is talking about turning your life into songs, so we can use the Woody Guthrie model as a launching place for that” says Smith. The class will be for ages 14 to adult and is funded by the OSU Institute for Creativity. Registration will be required.More details: http://library.stillwater.org/
