Precious Moments Kicks Off the Holiday Season with Christmas Lighting Ceremony

Carthage, MO (October 10, 2013) - The sights and sounds of Christmas will come alive in grand fashion, November 1 at the inspiring Precious Moments Chapel, when over 50,000 sparkling lights will illuminate the Chapel and grounds. Located in the scenic foothills of the Missouri Ozarks, the Precious Moments Chapel has welcomed millions of visitors over the past 24 years, and thousands more have joined in the splendor of the lighting ceremony.

This years' lighting ceremony promises to be extraordinary, with the Fairview Christian Church Vocal Ensemble and Pastor John Mouton leading the activities in the Chapel. Before the lighting ceremony, Debbie Cochenour will lead caroling around a beautifully decorated 18 ft. tall Christmas tree, located in the candyland-themed Visitor Center Atrium. In addition, each child in attendance will receive a free teddy bear with which to cuddle on their trip home. The evening will be capped off with a free concert featuring Duke Mason, in the Visitor Center. A free-will offering will be requested for the concert, with proceeds going to purchase toys for the LaVerne William’s Carthage Police Department’s Christmas Party. Seating for the concert is limited.
