OK House Democrat Considers Run for Gov
Term limited Representative Joe Dorman launches an exploratory committee in a possible run for Governor.
The Rush Springs Democrat admits he’s facing an uphill battle.
Representative Dorman filed the paperwork Tuesday aware that he was facing a popular incumbent Republican who has a lot more money to campaign then he.
Dorman says he came to the decision over the past 90 days working on a petition to put shelters in Oklahoma schools.
“Many citizens approached me about how disappointed they were on how things are running in state government right now, and, done a lot of soul searching the last few weeks. Visited with my family and decided I wanted to form the exploratory committee to look at this and see if it’s the right way to go.”
The petition fell short by about 40-thousand votes, and he says if it doesn’t get an extension he’ll file a constitutional amendment in the next session.
Conservative Libertarian R.J. Harris announced several months ago he would also be running against Fallin as a Democrat.
