You may have noticed a new voice guiding you throughout the morning on KOSU. Beginning in November, Nikole Robinson Carroll joined KOSU as the new host of Morning Edition.

“Nikole has a radio style that is very relaxed, which we thought was a great fit for KOSU’s Morning Edition,” says Rachel Hubbard, associate director for KOSU. “I always find it amazing how much of a relationship people feel with the Morning Edition host. Over the coming months, I think listeners will find Nikole to be a funny and quirky person who is excited to spend part of the day with you.”

Robinson Carroll works out of KOSU’s Oklahoma City studio, recording and producing engaging and interesting stories. In her first month on the job, she has produced stories on the Oklahoma City premiere of the film “Day of the Doctor,” the Oklahoma singer behind “I Want a Hippopotamus for Christmas,” and the rebuilding of Black Mesa Brewing.

Robinson Carroll began her professional broadcasting career at WEKU in Richmond, Kentucky, but her passion for radio can be traced back to her childhood bedroom, where she would perform “radio shows” on a tape recorder.

She is overjoyed to return to her true dream job after a three-year hiatus. During that time, she earned her Master of Public Administration from Eastern Kentucky University and worked for a variety of social service and nonprofit agencies, most recently serving developmentally disabled individuals through Renaissance Management Group.

Nikole lives in Oklahoma City with her husband, Kris, and their “kids” – two cats, two dogs and a mouse.

You know what perked my ears—–The way you say your long name—>
-" Nikole Robinson Carroll"–seems like a few hundred times on my morning 22-28 min commute time. Amazing those long three words ( names ) has a wonderful tune to it—and you don't seem to get tired of it either.Plus, you gave out your email with a correct spelling–K instead of usual C in your first name.
You confirmed my suspicion that you definitely were not an OKIE gal. I like your accent too. Having listened to you for last few months ( am & pm commute ), I can, also predict when you are going to end the story with your long name. This might amuse you, last week, on the choked , bumper-to-bumper icy Hefner Parkway, somebody cut me off , and I unconsciously spoke your long name, the same time you were saying it–sounded so good–but the Red neck in the Ford truck misunderstood my lip reading & showed me the finger!!! Excellent job..keep it up.. Have Fun! Hope you can pronounce my long name too ?????
P.S. Guess what ! I inserted my name @ the bottom and it would not let me post it–it says " your name is too long –please make it between 3 and 20 characters." Gosh ! I can't shorten my name & I can't put here either ! That sucks.
