Blue Cross/Blue Shield of Oklahoma is helping uninsured people who need to get coverage before the penalty period starts January First.

Enrollment seminars are taking place at Metro Tech in Oklahoma City and Riverwind Casino in Norman.

Oklahomans who don’t have insurance and need coverage under the affordable care act can get help picking the best plan through the open Marketplace which started Tuesday.

Think Blue Ambassador Tonya Coffey says the number one goal of the event is to put people are ease.

“Just basically that it really is something good. That it’s going to be a great benefit for them, and that there’s a lot of different coverages that are going to be available so they’re going to benefit. Everything’s going to be a great benefit for them.”

Coffey says people need to understand they can’t get turned down for a preexisting condition and there is help in paying for the plans through tax credits and subsidies.

Blue Cross/Blue Shield will be providing the sessions till December 15th.
