KOSU and the Individual Artists of Oklahoma, a statewide arts nonprofit, are encouraging the public to bring new life to the station’s old records through the Art on the Record project. The station is pulling hundreds of old records that are no longer in use to serve as vinyl canvasses for artists young and old to create unique pieces of art KOSU will display at its new Oklahoma City studios in the Hart Building in Film Row.
Prizes for youth and adult artists are provided by Slice Magazine and include gift certificates to Stella Italian Restaurant, West Restaurant, Paseo Grill and the Hal smith Restaurant Group.
The deadline to return records is September 13, and winners will be names Friday, September 20 during KOSU’s grand opening celebration. Records can be picked up at the KOSU studios in Stillwater, IAO Gallery in Oklahoma City or the Spy studios in Oklahoma City.
