School Security Institute Gears Up for New Year
Schools across the state start a new year in just a few weeks under a new security initiative passed last year by the legislature in response to the deadly shooting in Newtown, Connecticut.
The School Security Institute is getting set up by the Oklahoma Office of Homeland Security.
KOSU’s Michael Cross got a chance to sit down with O-H-S Director Kim Carter to talk about what people can expect from the new program.
Director Carter says the Institute only started with funding on July First, and he hopes to have it up and fully running by the end of the first school year.
