Tonight: On Tap – Have We Arrived?

Filed by Rachel Hubbard in Feature.
July 24, 2013

What makes a great city?  It’s a question a lot of people are asking right now.  Oklahoma has an NBA team, an increasing food scene, an art scene, a music scene, and a stable economy.  But does that mean we’ve arrived.  What’s missing?  More of what’s already here?  More biking a walking trails?  What takes us to the next level, or are we already there?  Let’s talk about it at the next On Tap, Wednesday, July 24th at 6 p.m. at Picasso Café at 3009 Paseo St, Oklahoma City, OK 73103.

Part of the discussion may need to be regarding how we fit in the nation. Just days ago, the NPR ombudsman released a story on regional bias in the overall NPR coverage.

Despite the wonderful public radio efforts here in OK, the NPR carried OK stories ranked us dead last (when rated on a per capita basis)

Meanwhile, Ms. Hubbard–I'd vote for more biking trails (generally as a substitute for auto commuting vs recreational trail layouts, though the latter are very desirable, too)
