“Burns Hargis Resigns from Chesapeake Energy Board”

OSU President Burns Hargis has resigned from the board at Chesapeake Energy. Louis A. Raspono, former CEO of Pride International, will replace him.

Hargis was overwhelmingly rejected by Chesapeake shareholders nine months ago in his bid for another term on the board, but he retained his place as head of the audit committee to complete a review of CEO Aubrey McClendon’s finances. The board announced Feb. 20 that its review had found no proof of intentional misconduct by McClendon. “With the completion of my final assignment, it is the appropriate time for me to step aside,” Hargis said.
