Immigrants await a naturalization ceremony to become U.S. citizens at the district office of U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services on January 28, 2013 in Newark, New Jersey. Some 38,000 immigrants became U.S. citizens at the Newark office alone in 2012. (Photo by John Moore | Getty Images)

A bipartisan group of U.S. senators has outlined an immigration policy overhaul that includes a path to citizenship. President Barack Obama has publicly praised the plan. Now we want to hear from you.

If you had the ear of a senator, or even the president, what would you want to share about your own experience with America’s immigration system? And based on your experience, what changes would you make to the way the system currently operates?

If your family or friends have experience with immigration, we’d also love to hear from them.
