Gun advocates are planning a peaceful rally at the State Capitol at “High Noon” as a part of a nationwide campaign called “Guns Across America”

Security officials want participants to understand there are rules about guns and the Capitol.

Oklahoma Highway Patrol officials say while guns are allowed outside on the capitol complex, no weapons are allowed inside any building including the state capitol itself.

Lieutenant George Brown says he’s expecting a peaceful protest and there are no plans to increase security at the building.

“We always have troopers patrolling the ground and that includes all the grounds at the state capitol complex, and that’s 24 hours, 7 day a week process, so we don’t have any additional measures as of yet.”

The Oklahoma Open Carry Association is telling its members to be aware of Oklahoma’s Open and Concealed Carry laws.

The website for the association says the rally is to protest any and all future gun control legislation.
