Governor Fallin says while she hasn’t seen the President’s executive orders on guns, she says the state is doing what it can in the area of safety.

But, she is standing up for people’s second amendment rights.

Governor Fallin says she is planning to bring up gun safety in her state of the state address with the issue of mental health in Oklahoma.

One area she plans to address is putting more money into mental health services.

“We have emergency crisis centers throughout our state. We were able to add three new emergency crisis centers in our state with some funding i put in the budget last year and you’ll see more emphasis on being able to identify people who might have some  mental health challenges.”

Fallin also says the Lieutenant Governor is working with a task force to look at ways to keep Oklahoma’s children safe in schools.

She says she’ll reserve judgment until recommendations come forward from the task force or lawmakers.
