Sounds to me like the comment above was written by a Chamber or CVB employee who is trying to make a case for wasting tax payers money! I have had several experiences with the Cox Convention Center and find the comments above to be very untrue. If it is as bad as this person says, please explain how they are able to bring so much revenue to OKC. They need to just do a facelift on the current building and spend the money somewhere else.

I work at the COX Convention Center and I can honestly say it is DREADFUL. It is old, crumbling, dirty, non-functional, not inviting, NOT state of the art, cold, crawing with bugs and other critters and all around gross. It is embarrassing. I have had a first hand account of the business that OKC is doing. There is ALWAYS something booked in the current Convention Center, there is no doubt that OKC is on the rise. We should embrace this last MAPS project whole heartedly and push for a new convention center and new hotels as well. Go to other cities...see what they have and then come back and stand in the stale dank halls of the COX. My guess is that you'll change your mind quickly. OKC has come so far...please don't cut funding off at the knees. We are almost there!
