Four states put same-sex marriage in the hands of voters yesterday. And the results are in from three:

Mainers made history as the first state in which voters themselves (not lawmakers or the courts) legalized gay marriage.
Marylanders said they want the same-sex marriage law passed earlier this year to go into action.
Minnesotans rejected a constitutional amendment that would have defined marriage as between one man and one woman.

The vote to uphold a law legalizing same-sex marriage in Washington is still too close to call, but the “Yes”es appear to be ahead. Here’s the most updated state-by-state information about same-sex marriage votes.
