The Oklahoma Arts Council recognizes KOSU’s commitment to the arts in Oklahoma.

In a Governors’ Arts Award ceremony at the state capitol Thursday KOSU was one of three organizations to win the Bill Crawford Memorial Media in the Arts Award.

Oklahoma Arts Council Executive Director Kim Baker says out of dozens of nominations, it was easy for the selection committee to pick KOSU.

“They saw the commitment that KOSU has for the arts in Oklahoma. They saw the amount of time that they use on their station to support and promote the arts in Oklahoma.”

Also receiving Bill Crawford Memorial Awards were OKIE Magazine and Rogers State University Public Television.

The award was named after veteran newsman Bill Crawford who contributed to the arts through his work as a journalist.
