For someone accusing others of not being able to read, you should really REREAD the article. As for the Governor's quote, it was nothing more than gobbledygook. No coherent, meaninful statement there.

Michael, I think you're the one who can't read. It clearly states she supports the bill.
So we decided to ask Governor Mary Fallin why she was in support of this state question.

Fallin says she’s already facing tough scrutiny right now without the new responsibilities.
“I want to be able to make changes that we need to be able to make sure we have the best people possible in place we have the best systems as possible, we have accountability. We have transparency. The public’s voice is listened to, heard.”

We elected the governor. Who put the Commission members in place for the Commission of Human Services? I would rather an official I elected, the governor, overseeing this agency rather than members of a Commission in which I had no voice in putting in place. I am voting yes.

Wow. You folks really can't read. According to this article, Governor Fallin does NOT want this additional responsibility. She supports the existing Commission and believes that it already provides the needed accountability and transparency and that it is responsive to public input. It seems what really motivates the previous comments is nothing more than dislike for our Governor. How petty.

The Governor wants to be given this responsibility??? And she wants to be relieved of responsibility regarding parole of nonviolent convicts??? It sounds like a path to cut funding, hiring, and oversight of the agency set to help the most vulnerable Okies.

This should not be a Governor elected commission. all should be elected officals that sit on the board.
This Governor may want to appoint who she wants but here again there is partiality showing already and that is not what we need in DHS.
This question should be stricken from the ballet for this year.

Vote NO. It’s complicated. Even though Gov. Mary Fallon is in favor of taking on the extra responsibility, I don’t have faith in her ability to design a viable new organization. Speaking of design, moving to four (4) different “advisory” groups instead of having an oversight commission sounds like more fog to me. I’m for voting NO until the legislature puts together a clear and more effective org chart for the new mgmt.
