A former Tennessee Department of Human Services Deputy Director gets a job offer to take over DHS in Oklahoma.

After two and a half hours in executive session the DHS Commission offered the director position to Ed Lake who has until Monday at 5pm to accept the job.

Commission Chairman Wes Lane says he has great confidence that Lake is the right man at the right time.

“I think Ed Lake has great experience. In our view he’s a proven change agent and a proven leader.”

Lane says Governor Fallin is also supporting the decision.

Lake would be replacing Howard Hendrick who retired last March after nearly 14 years on the job.

Lake’s salary would be $185,000 a year with a $5,000 signing bonus.
