The Forbes 400 list of “The Richest People in America” includes six Oklahomans currently living in the state.
Half the wealthy Oklahomans made their money directly from the oil and natural gas industry; the other half are connected to large retail businesses.

Oklahoma native T. Boone Pickens, who now lives in Texas, tied with several other Americans for the No. 360 spot with an estimated net worth of $1.2 billion from his connections to the oil and gas industry and other investments.

Oklahomans who fell off the list included Aubrey McClendon, CEO of Chesapeake Energy Corp., and Joseph Craft, CEO of Tulsa-based Alliance Resource Partners.
