There’s some Oklahoma flavor at the Republican National Convention in Tampa. As KOSU’s Ben Allen reports, one Oklahoma leader has already spoken, and another is due at the podium later…
Oklahoma City Mayor Mick Cornett took exactly 2 minutes 47 seconds to get through his 24 line speech…
“Well this is quite a place, I’m just taking a moment to take all this in. Where’s the Oklahoma delegation?”
The Mayor then cited fiscally conservative leadership and investment in infrastructure as the reasons behind Oklahoma City’s rapid rise.
“Twenty years ago, we decided that we can do better, and we have.”
Oklahoma Governor Mary Fallin also due to speak on the state’s relatively strong economy, slated for sometime between 7 and 8 tonight.
