NOWAPA or the North American Water and Power Alliance would take 20 percent of the runoff in Alaska and Canada and divert it southeast to the Great Basin and the Eastern Slope of the Rockies. The plan which is everal times bigger than the TVA Tennessee Valley Authority would have similar effects on developing the West and even Northern Mexico. We need that kind of intervention to support our aquifers during this extended drought going on two years now. We need more water along with conservation to make it into the future.
