Former Penn State assistant football coach Jerry Sandusky has been convicted of 45 counts of sexual abuse. The charges involved the abuse of 10 boys over a 15-year period. The jury deliberated more than 20 hours before arriving at its verdict.
Sandusky originally faced 52 charges — four were dismissed during the trial, The Patriot-News reports.
The defense rested Thursday, without putting Sandusky on the stand, we reported.
The Associated Press says Sandusky faces life in prison when he is sentenced, which will be weeks from now:
“Sandusky showed little emotion as the verdict was read. The judge ordered him to be taken to the county jail to await sentencing in about three months.”
