A too close to call State House election in Tulsa ends with no winner after a ruling from the State Supreme Court.
The seat will now stay empty for most of 2012.
The House District 71 race which went back and forth after coming to a close end on April Third has been voided by the State Supreme Court.
Election Board Secretary Paul Ziriax says this race shows how important every vote is, but also stands as a reminder to election officials.
“While as human beings we can never be perfect, we certainly want to strive for perfection and that should certainly be our goal with every election.”
The race ended with Democrat Dan Arthrell winning by three votes; a recount had Republican Katie Henke winning by one vote and then two ballots were found in a voting machine for Arthrell.
Both candidates have filed for the seat with a GOP primary in June and the general election in November.
