State Impact: No More State Help for Those with Teeth Trouble

During the state budget crisis, funding was totally eliminated for several Health Department programs, including Dentists for the Disabled and Elderly in Need of Treatment, or D-Dent. It provided dental care for those with no other recourse.
“And they have no other place to go. So, it gives us a good feeling to be able to help these people and say, ‘I made a difference in that one person’s life.” said Barbara Lopez, D-Dent’s Assistant Director.

I cannot understand why the funding would be TOTALLY ELIMINATED for the disabled and elderly who truly have no other place to go. Dental problems are not simply a cosmetic problem, but lead to serious health issues. It will be much more costly to pay for subsequent medical probems resulting from poor dental health.I hope the state budget can be adjusted to continue this services for others such as Paul (pictured above).
This makes absolutely no sense. Even my dentist in concord can't understand why the local government would just stop helping its elderly and needy citizens.
Just the fact that they'll be helping those that needs it more. In this case, this person is suffering from a oral health problem that needs to be resolved immediately. Our goodlettsville tn dental clinic is willing to help and share some man powere for treatments such as this.
