A state Representative and former Senator facing bribery allegations will not have conspiracy added to their charges.
Oklahoma County District Judge Ray Elliott denied the DA’s request to add conspiracy to the charges against Representative Randy Terrill and former State Senator Debbe Leftwich.
Leftwich’s attorney Robert McCampbell says he’s pleased with the ruling.
“The next step will be to go to district court, and in district court we’re going to ask that the remaining counts also be dismissed. This case is without merit.”
Prosecutors allege Terrill offered Leftwich an $80,000 a year job with the Medical Examiner if she chose not to seek reelection.
An arraignment on the charges is scheduled this Friday afternoon.
