Cain To Make Announcement Saturday; Wife Leads ‘Women For Cain’ Effort

There’s word from Rock Hill, S.C., that Republican presidential candidate Herman Cain says he’ll be making an announcement on Saturday about the future of his presidential bid, The Associated Press reports.

Meanwhile, here’s a related bit of news to consider: His campaign just launched a “Women for Cain” effort, chaired by the candidate’s wife Gloria.

As the webpage says:

“Mr. Cain has been a strong advocate for women throughout his lifetime, defending and promoting the issues of quality health care, family, education, equality in the workplace and many other concerns so important to American women. “Gloria Cain is the National Chairperson for ‘Women for Cain’ and is the very special woman who Mr. Cain devoted his life to many years ago. Mr. Cain and Gloria celebrated their 43rd wedding anniversary earlier this year.”

Cain was in Rock Hill to give a speech. He’s due to be home in Georgia later today, and has said he’ll be discussing with his wife the latest allegation to rock his campaign — an Atlanta woman’s claim that she had a 13-year-long affair with Cain. The candidate has said he knows the woman, but did not have an affair with her.
