When nature’s storms trap friends and family under rubble or inside unstable buildings, we expect a line of defense. We want someone to rescue them using the best equipment and practices available.
That’s why earlier this week the Oklahoma City Fire Department hosted the 9th annual Urban Search and Rescue Conference.
Cecil Clay, spokesperson for the department, said it’s a win-win.
“These are some of the most highly trained people in urban search and rescue in the entire nation. There’s a lot of resources here that are gathered together, and it’s a huge benefit to our nation along with our indivdual states.”
Fire fighters from across the country attended the conference.
