The Board of Regents at Oklahoma State University unanimously granted President Burns Hargis all the power he needs to secure the school’s future in a conference, Big 12 or otherwise. But Hargis said he doesn’t want to leave the Big 12.

“If we all have the attitude that we want to have an equal role in the success of this conference, I think we can come to a consensus,” said Hargis.

Hargis said revenue sharing needs to be negotiated if the Big 12 survives the turmoil among college athletic conferences.

“There’s a number of items and most of them have been reported or at least discussed in the press and I’m optimistic that we’re going to get somewhere on this,” said Hargis.

Hargis said he wants the situation resolved by this weekend. Reports say the Big 12 presidents will hold a teleconference Thursday to find a solution.
