Oklahoma lawmakers held their first joint task force on the Federal Health Care Law which was passed by Congress last year.

Legislators plan to examine the impact of the Federal Health Care Law as well as the current lawsuit opposing it and the vote last November allowing Oklahomans to opt out.

Republican Senator Gary Stanislawski, the co-chair of the task force says it’s important to know our options.

“As a state, do we just say no. Do we implement something? What’s the flexibility for our state?.”

Task Force member Democratic Representative Danny Morgan agrees Oklahoma needs to be prepared for any situation.

“We can’t wait till the last minute and then say well the courts ruled that Obamacare is in fact a legal entity and has to be implemented in the states and if we’re not prepared we’re going to get ourselves in a very bad situation.”

The next meeting will be held on October 5th in Tulsa and the task force will run into November.
