Summer Movies: The Timelessness Of Elizabeth Taylor

Filed by KOSU News in Art & Life.

In March, Hollywood lost one of its brightest stars — Elizabeth Taylor.

After her breakout role as a 12-year-old horse lover in the classic National Velvet, Taylor went on to find even greater success as an adult. She won two Oscars for Butterfield 8 and Who’s Afraid of Virginia Woolf, and played everyone from Helen of Troy to Cleopatra.

For the final installment of Talk of the Nation’s 2011 Summer Movie Series, Murray Horwitz offers a tribute to the girl with the violet eyes.
