Owners of the new Outlet Shoppes in western Oklahoma City are declaring success after opening during the state’s tax free weekend.
The Horizon Group which owns the new Outlet Shoppes on I-40 and Council says more than 161,000 people came to shop over its first three days in existence.
VP of Marketing Gina Slechta says Monday also saw a good number of people and the momentum should keep growing.
“We had a lot of people that came from Tulsa, Arkansas, Wichita, and we know that they’re going to go back to their cities and spread the word.”
Slechta says this shows that the state of the economy is looking good in Oklahoma as so many people were willing to endure 110 degree heat to shop.
She says the center is also getting positive feedback from its more than 40,000 fans on Facebook.
