A Plea for More OK Health Centers

Later this month the federal government will give Oklahoma an answer on 13 applications it sent for new community health centers across the state.
Health officials are hoping to add to the more than 100,000 Oklahomans who get services from community health centers.
Stigler Health and Wellness CEO Teresa Higgins says these locally owned and operated centers are non-profit and answerable to the community.
“Health centers are a strong partnership of the people, governments and communities working together to meet health care needs in their communities. All together we save the health care system $24 billion each year.”
More than 800 applications were filed for the 60 to 70 communities across the U-S which would get $650,000 each for the centers.
