Corporation Commissioner Running for Congress

Corporation Commissioner Jeff Cloud officially jumps into the race for Congressional District Five.

Republican Jeff Cloud is joining about seven others in running for the party nomination to replace Congresswoman Mary Fallin who is running for Governor.

Cloud told supporters in the State Senate Lounge that he wants to reverse the course of the Obama Administration and Democratic Congress.

“Before our very eyes, our government has accelerated its transformation from a servant government for the people to a government mastering its people and focussing on redistribution of wealth.”

Cloud says he opposes the stimulus bill, health care reform and environmental legislation.

He says he’s also concerned about the growing deficit and encroachment by the federal government on states’ rights.

He says he opposes the actions of the current President overseas and his judgment to put an 18 month timetable on the surge of troops in Afghanistan.

Cloud says he can’t think of anything that is going right in Washington, DC right now.
