Preliminary results of a worldwide study which includes scientists from Oklahoma show no statistical evidence of genetic defects for children whose parents underwent cancer treatment as kids.
The study is looking at offspring from Finland, Denmark and the United States. While the risk of genetic mutation appears to be low, pediatricians say more needs to be done to try to protect cancer survivors from being infertile later in life.
